Yesterday evening we had the chance to play with the new concept from Samsung, the Galaxy Camera, a hybrid between smartphone and compact camera rather original. Galaxy Camera is a compact camera is equipped not only with a huge touchscreen, 3G connectivity and Wi-Fi, but also a system Android Jelly Bean. Having embarked on this camera Android provides access to a variety of applications usually reserved for smartphone starting with Dropbox or Instagram for example! At first contact, the gadget is quite unusual! It is true that we have not used a touch screen as large and responsive on a camera. Next photo, even if the version tested is only awes70% completed, there are some very good ideas, especially at the interface which allows for example in manual change very quickly all the settings such as aperture or the shutter speed, but also the physical zoom controlled by a nip of the screen.
Application side, we tested Instagram, and it is true that taking a photo directly in the application, apply filters and send it over the net from the camera is pretty funny! Technical side, the Galaxy Camera features a 1.4 GHz Quad Core processor, a BSI CMOS sensor 1/2.3 “(approximately 16.3 megapixels effective) and a lens F = 4.1 – 86.1mm (35mm equivalent: 23 – 483mm), f2. 8 (Wide) – F5.9 (Te? the? lens). In short, the Samsung Galaxy Camera seems to be a good idea, and this is especially the most advanced cameras connected. Was not enough time for thorough testing of the camera itself, but the concept is really nice!
